About
The person behind Royal Wave Media.
Hello, I'm Hannibal
Royal Wave Media is my company. It's based in Sanford, North Carolina, and it's small on purpose.
I've been narrating audiobooks since 2017, and I'm past 200 of them now: horror, literary fiction, comedy, sci-fi, thrillers, business books, memoir, and plenty that don't fit neatly on any shelf. Every one of them recorded in my own studio.
Before the microphone, I ran a web company, fixing computers and building websites. That turned out to be handy. Whenever I needed a tool that didn't exist, I built it: Auditiono for casting audiobooks, Sleuthy for finding them, Royaltally for tracking what they earn. And Gods & Monsters, a mythology encyclopedia that got slightly out of hand and now covers 146 mythologies.
How we got here
Royal Wave Media was incorporated in 2021 to hold all of that under one roof.
Over the years, more and more of the work turned out to be helping authors. A cover here, a formatted paperback there. Then whole books, taken from a Word file to Amazon, Audible and a Spanish edition.
I also host a free live show for narrators and authors, Audiobooking with Hannibal Hills, and I coach narrators one to one. The questions I hear most are always the same ones. Which distributor? Who holds my files? And what do I actually get paid once everyone has taken their share?
So that's what Royal Wave Media does now. We help authors make it happen, and we keep it simple: one person you can talk to, clear prices, and your rights and royalties stay yours.
